Peyton Amundson is a grade 11 and in his second musical at Foothills Composite High School, his first was legally blonde, which was great fun. This year, with his fellow cast members, he can't wait to present bye bye birdie the musical. Payton hopes you enjoy the hard work put into it, and appreciates your support of the musical program.
Katrina Anthony was ecstatic to join the musical theater program at the Composite high school this year. She loves to play instruments and do art in her free time, along with hanging out with friends. Katrina loves to act and sing, not to mention enjoys meeting new people and performing something that she worked hard on. She would love to join theater again next year!
This is Lisa! She plays as Hugo’s bestfriend Freddy and gets to wear a silly wig, she’s got a cat named Chicken and absolutely adores the little monster. She likes making props and other various hands on craft, hopefully she’ll be able to work as an artist and keep creating for the rest of her life!
Pierson, a band kid, was peer pressured into the musical production of 2022 by past graduates; and eventually rediscovered his love for the theatre. Every chance he gets, he helps out those around him and is determined to make you smile while dancing on stage. Outside of theatre, he works towards becoming a professional trombonist, and is known locally for being a rubber-duck enthusiast.
In her second year of high school, Saryn is excited to participate in around her eleventh musical. She’d like to thank Mr. Ellis and Mrs. Kelly for this opportunity, as well as her cast mates for such a memorable time. Mrs. Mae Peterson is a wonderful role and she couldn’t be more excited to play it!
This is irelands 6th year doing musical theatre and second show at fchs. It’s also her last year at fchs and she’s loved being part of this program for the past few years and will miss everyone so much and can’t wait to see everybody in the next coming years!
Bella has been performing in musical productions for as long as she can remember, and it has grown to be a passion and love of hers. She is excited to participate in this year's FCHS "Bye Bye Birdie" musical with friends both old and new, and is looking forward to the production next year as well! When she is not busy with theater, Bella spends her time practicing violin, learning choral pieces, and practicing her creative writing skills. She is so grateful for the support she has received from her family, friends, and, last but certainly not least, her chiweenie, Charlie!
Clara is excited to join the senior cast on the stage this year. She has watched many previous performers at her old school go on into the Fine Arts program at FCHS. Clara has been in one play previously and is excited to her expand her horizons.
Emma Cunnigham, also commonly known as The Chunningman (don’t ask), is a grade eleven student with a love for all things art, especially theatre. From theatre to painting, instrumental music to choir, it has always been a part of who she is. She started her love for theatre specifically, at Theatre New Brunswick, now she’s over the moon to be participating in the FCHS production this year and to have been able to participate in last year’s production as well. Other than the arts The Chunningman enjoys math, robotics, and everything in between, she loves trying everything and taking on new challenges!
Kate is playing Mrs. Doris MacAfee in this year's production. This is her last musical production at AHSFA, and she is so happy to be part of the show! Kate loves music and performing. Last year she was in the school’s production of Legally Blonde, as well the one act plays Horse Girls and Lockdown. Kate has loved every minute of her time performing in this theater and is so excited to help put on the musical, Bye Bye Birdie!
Jack is a Grade 10 participating in his second production, first at AHSFA. He is playing the role of Karl in Bye Bye Birdie. He is hoping to put on a good show for the audience and is excited to be on stage again.
Nina Fenner is a grade 10 student that is playing the role of Suzie in Bye Bye Birdy. Nina has been a part of three performances, one in grade seven and two last year. Although she has been a part of performances before, this will be her first musical and she is excited to be a part of it.
Tayah is an avid singer, songwriter, actress, and playwrite. Select credits include: Legally Blonde The Musical - Leilani (Storybook Theatre), Theory Of Relativity - Olivia (Storybook Theatre), Legally Blonde The Musical - Margot (Alberta High School Of Fine Arts), Dreamer A Musical - Music/Play-Write/Director (Calgary Young People’s Theatre). Tayah has won numerous awards including the Corrine Peltier Shining Star Scholarship (Storybook Theatre) and Outstanding Achievement In Original New Work - Advanced Acting Zone 5 (Alberta High School Of Fine Arts). Tayah would like to thank directors Miss. Kelly, and Mr. Ellis for giving her continuous opportunities to grow as a performer. Now sit back relax and enjoy the show!
Jojo is a hardworking individual who from a young age always aspired to be a part of any arts, and had the opportunity to be involved in last year’s production at the foothills composite highschool. She can not wait to play her part in this year’s production and show the work and dedication she has put into it from the get go.
Rachel is a grade 11 student and is thrilled to be returning for this years musical “Bye Bye Birdie”. Rachel has been involved in musical theatre for many years and has thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. In 2019 she had the honour of playing Wednesday Addams in Westmount Schools production of “The Addams Family” and ever since she’s been in multiple productions including landing the role of Dorothy Gale in 2020, and being in last years production of Legally Blonde where she played Pillar. Rachel is incredibly honoured to be working with the cast and crew of Bye Bye Birdie and can’t wait to continue this journey at AHSFA as she hopes to return once again in the near future!
Em is a Gr.12 student whose life revolves around the arts. That passion extended itself to theatre when they joined drama in Gr.10 and instantly fell in love with the community and expression nature of theatre. This is Em’s second year in a row playing the role of “Dad” in the FCHS musical, which they couldn’t be happier about. Em is sad this is their last performance at FCHS, but they know that the many friends they’ve made in our theatre will continue to bring them joy and company after graduation.
This is Max's 3rd musical, and his second musical at FCHS/AHSFA. He is super thrilled to be a part of the musical and work with so many amazing people and really looking forward to taking it again next year! But Max spends most of his time trying to get Mrs Kelly to tolerate him.
Bye bye birdie is Abby’s second and last production with AHSFA. Last year performing as Serena in Legally Blonde, and this year performing as Rosie in Bye bye birdie. She has also contributed to other musicals in the past such as lucky lucky Hudson and the 12th street gang, the Addams family, the hygiene musical, and the wizard of oz.
Taylor is a new cast member this year and is delighted to be given the opportunity to perform with the ahsfa theatre program. She hopes to continue the program through the next 3 years and find her place within the group. Taylor is thankful to have the support of her cast and teachers and hopes to give them the same backing they have given her.
Abigail Laqua has wanted to be a part of stage productions since the very first time she saw one in grade 2. Ever since junior high she has participated in every musical she could and found a love in the performing arts. She participates in Vocal Ensemble on top of theatre and finds great joy in expressing herself through music. When she's not busy performing, she indulges her artistic side through any number of crafts, drawings and paintings. She is incredibly excited to be in AHSFA’s production of ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ and hopes everyone enjoys the show!
Falcon Matchett, a grade 11 that plays harveys fatherly figure. Playing vocals in some other songs such as, telephone hour, ed sullivan, reprise kids healthy normal. He is usually a sort of lazy person but worked a bit for musical theater. He will be with the musical theater crew until he cannot anymore after 12th grade.
Mica hasn't been in a production for about eight years prior to this production of Bye Bye Birdie and only has a small amount of experience. She enjoys dancing and singing as well as drawing and painting.
This is Ruth’s first year of musical theater. She has always loved watching musicals, and is excited to be in one this year. She hopes you have as much fun watching the show as the cast did working on it, and that she can find a better way to end her bio next year.
This is Grace’s stage debut. She was a dancer for 12 years but decided to take up musical theater instead. She is looking forward to playing the role of Alice and posible being part of more performances in the future. Grace’s goals in life are to either become an actress or teacher.
Eden has been in multiple performances before, getting crippling injuries in almost everyone including this production. When not on stage, she’s usually on the basketball court or eating a cheese string. Eden has a deep love for her Fanny packs, and fruitopia of course.
This is Orianna’s first musical performance. She is in eleventh grade and loves to sing. Never having to sing and dance simultaneously, this musical has been a learning curve, but she hopes everyone will enjoy the end result of everyone’s efforts.
Jocelyn has loved theatre for a long time and previously played the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. This is her second year on stage. She hopes to keep acting throughout high school. She is Stacey’s mom cause she’s got it going on.

This is Levi’s second production and he’s super excited to be apart of this one! Levi spends most of his time talking about theatre or trying to get Mrs. Kelly to tolerate him
Taylor Smith has years of competitive dance and vocal training under her belt. She has no prior experience with theatre, but she is passionate about it and is thrilled to be involved in the production.
This is Anna’s second year in theatre and was previously in Okotoks Junior High School’s production of ‘The Hobbit’ and played the role of Gandalf. She has taken a recent liking to musical theatre and hopes to continue in her later years of high school. Anna is really appreciative of her upperclassmen and how much they help her and she hopes to eventually be one of those that the tenth graders look up to. She is truly loving every bit of time she has with this cast.
This is Nina’s first year at AHSFA and she has thoroughly enjoyed this years production in the making. This has been a total dream come true for her to perform in a musical as her grandma has been taking her to see multiple productions over the years. She has fallen in love with the cast, and made many new friends, she would like to thank her sister, Aoife for helping her prepare for auditions and making this all a reality for her, so she would like to dedicate her performance to Aoife.
This is Carly’s second production at the Foothills Composite High School. Last year she chose to stay out of the spotlight for the school’s performance of Legally Blonde, but this year she decided to audition seeing as this is her last production at the Alberta High School of Fine Arts before she graduates in the spring. Her role this year is a smaller one, but she is still looking forward to contributing to the show.
Jelena is very excited to be in the production of Bye Bye Birdie. She was in last year’s production of Legally Blonde and thought that it was so much fun. Jelena thinks that Bye Bye Birdie is super entertaining and can be enjoyed by everyone. She hopes that this musical brings a smile to your face and makes you laugh.
Arden is a grade 11 student in their second year of music theatre. Performing in last year's production of Legally Blonde, Arden was ecstatic to rejoin the cast for another incredible experience. They would like to dedicate their performance in Bye Bye Birdie to their Mom, who always supports their interests and the loud hours of practice at home. Arden has had another fantastic year with an incredible cast in musical theatre and is delighted to share the performance with those they love.
